INDEPENDENT BUT WORRIED

Image
thoughts Have you heard the demands for an income tax waiver for pensioners? I say, let us pay tax; it's a meagre amount. The real topic isn't Income Tax, but the security and worry-free life of the common Bharatiya citizen. I believe we should focus on far more pressing issues. Let's pay our taxes—it's a small contribution. We shouldn't squabble over this trivial amount, especially since we can't take our wealth with us. Instead, we must prioritise creating a 'sans-bribe-nation' where the common person isn't exploited and no individual is suppressed. It's worth noting that while some argue for tax waivers, others rightly feel it's our duty to contribute to the country's development. Interestingly, countries like the United States have systems that have largely eliminated routine bribery, though high-level international deals may still face issues. However, we cannot compare our cultural values to those of European or American nations...

SAATH SAMUNDAR - NEED FOR TRANSFORMATION ಸಪ್ತ ಸಮುದ್ರ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ

thoughts The Visionary Leadership of Puthige Mutt Seer There are indeed broad-minded Swamijis (ascetics) and Mathaadhipathis (pontiffs). One exemplary individual is Sri Sugunendra Teertharu, the pontiff of Puthige Mutt, Udupi. You may wonder why I am referencing him specifically; your doubts will be clarified as you continue reading. Challenging the Overseas Travel Taboo Our customs often dictate that we should not travel by sea, lest we risk losing eligibility for various concessions and rights. To illustrate this point, consider the restriction on entering the Garbha Gudi (sanctum sanctorum) if one has traveled overseas, effectively crossing the Saptha Samudra (Seven Seas). The pontiff of Puthige Mutt, however, has traveled to America, Australia, Europe, and Middle Eastern nations, establishing mutts for the benefit of Indians, particularly Brahmins, residing there. When Puthige Mutt obtained the "Paryaya" (ಪರ್ಯಾಯ)—the two-year term to manage and administer Udupi Mutt—the...

ENJOY LIFE ? REALLY ? BUT WHEN ? JEEVAN KA KADVA SACH

thoughts  When Can We Truly Enjoy Life? A Look at Reality Most of us—roughly 98% of India's population—grow up in lower-middle-class or poor families. Our initial years, spanning at least 17 years from nursery to graduation, are dedicated solely to securing a good education. Afterwards, we must strive to find a job, often settling for a position we aren't passionate about. While employment brings initial relief, that joy is quickly diminished by the desire for a better role. Until we land a truly fulfilling position, there’s little inclination to enjoy life. And if we can’t secure that ideal job or are unwilling to relocate, we’re forced to stay put. Even when we finally settle into a good career, that satisfaction is usually short-lived. New worries, like adapting to office changes, soon emerge. And by then, we've also reached marriageable age. The Burden of Responsibility Assuming one gets married and starts a new life, the initial phase may seem fine. However, chal...

MAKING A DIFFERENCE WHILE GIVING BACK TO SOCIETY

Image
thoughts Yes, we need to give back to society. Giving back isn't limited to financial contributions; it can also involve sharing our time, skills, and expertise.  The idea of giving back to society first occurred to me when I was very young. I used to see my father, despite being poor, volunteering his time. Perhaps he felt obligated to the Almighty, but his selflessness left a lasting impression on me. Initially, my father taught Sanskrit language free of cost to high school, pre-university, and university students who sought his assistance to improve their grades. Interestingly, even Sanskrit lecturers would regularly approach my father for guidance on preparing their theses or delivering lectures on various Sanskrit topics. Secondly, my father offered astrological services, analysing horoscopes and providing insightful predictions and suggestions. His expertise was highly regarded in our community, and many people would regularly visit our home to seek his guidance on ast...
